Mackenzie Sipiora is an American Artist based in Seattle, WA. Sipiora’s work is inspired by the world around her, capturing moments from time through painting and drawing. The process starts with realistic and detailed drawings while at the location that are then translated into abstract paintings in the studio.

Sipiora is inspired by colors on location, sometimes collecting found objects to bring to the studio to study from. While either exploring new neighborhoods or landscapes, Sipiora sketches in the moment, serving as a visual diary of memories captured through drawings.

Using a range of mediums to create her work, Sipiora explores mark making and movement of materials in her pieces through the use of ink pen, watercolors, and acrylics. Transforming detailed and precise drawings into fluid and bold abstracts in the studio, Sipiora describes her way of working as processing complex layers around her.
